Why Vitamin D3 is So Important
If you live on the east coast above North Carolina, then this is very important! Do you experience a lack of energy? Consistently compromised immune system and/or high blood sugar? Vitamin D3 may be the supplement for you!
Vitamin D3 is a precursor to several different processes occurring in our bodies on a regular basis and is an imperative building block to overall longevity. One common attribute you will see more than anything, is its ability to maintain bone integrity (prevention of osteoporosis). Other benefits you may see are, prevention of hair loss, increased testosterone, substantial boosts in immune system, increased insulin sensitivity, lower cholesterol, and increased energy levels. However, most people may be deficient in it without having any idea and here’s why.
- Exposure to sunlight: we are exposed to the sun almost every day, but is it enough to take in effective amounts of the sun’s rays to create Vitamin D3? For most that answer might be no. Certain estimated time frames have been given at around 20-30 minutes of exposure without sunscreen, 3 days a week.
- Diet and Vitamin D3: diet is another important factor that plays into overall health due to food’s nutritional content. Vitamin D3 is found in a lot of fish products, including, salmon, tuna, and oysters. Adding these into your diet can help with raising your levels to a more optimal range.
- Supplementation of Vitamin D3: this method seems to be the most efficient and cost-effective method of raising Vitamin D3 levels in the body. As of now 1000-4000 IUs a day has demonstrated great results in recent studies, and as more are conducted, that number seems to continue increasing.
At the end of the day we can all benefit from increasing our vitamin D3 intake to a more optimal consumption level, however, receiving a blood test is the best way to see where you are currently at. Stay healthy, get stronger, and be better every day!
