Why the Sled is So Effective

Sleds are used regularly at Elite Personal Fitness. These are one of the best pieces of equipment and we highly recommend them! You can drag it, push it, attach cables to it – the options are endless.

Sleds can be used for strengthening purposes as well as a great conditioning tool. Another great thing about using sleds, is that you tend to not feel sore from it the following day. That’s because it mostly works the concentric phase of the movement. This is also a great tool for teaching our athletes to be in the proper position for acceleration. That is, having your body at a 45 degree angle, using proper knee drive, having our hips in line with our body and most importantly, learning to generate force by pushing through the ground.
