How to Properly Perform a Box Jump
In this video, Coach John talks about how to properly perform a box jump. Many use box jumps to improve their vertical, but really it comes down to generating as much force into the ground which will translate into more explosiveness.
The problem with this exercise is that many are fixated on the height they are jumping instead of jumping that height properly. It becomes more of positioning the body to clear the height of the box by bringing the knees as high as possible, when really the focus should be to generate as much force into the ground so we can properly jump and land on the box in an athletic position.
