Delaying Gratification
Become successful by delaying gratification! We’ve heard success stories from many well-known people such as Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John among others who have come on the show Shark Tank. What many do not realize is how they all delayed gratification to get to where they are today.
Although they all started to have success and increase their wealth, they did not just go and spend their money like crazy. Instead they continued to reinvest in themselves and their business because they all had a bigger vision. This can applied to many aspects of our lives.
When it comes to our health and fitness, we make sure we are eating healthy and working out daily. This is most common during our challenges. Our challenge can be anywhere from 4-6 weeks in duration. During that time we all make sure we are focused because we want to lose those extra pounds, body fat and increase muscle. Once the challenge is over, we all feel that we accomplished something great and that we are entitled to “cheat” and lose the focus we had during that time.
But if we delayed that gratification by trying to continue all the time and effort put forth for another, let’s say 4-6 weeks, we put ourselves in a position to be even more successful in our fitness journey.
It is very easy for us to fall back after we pushed ourselves and sacrificed to reach our goals, but by delaying that gratification a little longer, you can reach a level of success that you did not think was possible!
